YouTube’s biggest star MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, has hired a high-profile attorney to combat recent controversies and allegations against him and his company. Alex Spiro, known for representing clients like Elon Musk and Alec Baldwin, has been brought on at a reported $2,000 per hour to conduct an internal audit and fend off public criticism.According to The Daily Mail, Spiro has already sent a cease-and-desist letter to former MrBeast employee Dawson French, who recently posted videos calling Donaldson a “sociopath” and “fraud.” The letter accuses French of breaching a non-disclosure agreement and spreading false information.Donaldson has faced a series of public relations challenges in recent weeks. He cut ties with childhood friend and collaborator Ava Tyson after allegations of inappropriate conversations with young fans surfaced. A New York Times report also detailed poor working conditions on the set of Donaldson’s upcoming Amazon show “Beast Games,” including injuries, lack of food and water, and limited access to medication. In response, Donaldson promised to improve internal culture and hire an HR officer. However, crisis management experts warn that an aggressive legal approach may not be the best strategy for rebuilding trust with fans. The Daily Mail reports that public relations professionals recommend Donaldson take responsibility for mistakes and apologise, particularly to his young audience. They caution that legal action could be seen as an attempt to silence critics rather than address underlying issues.
