A woman in her 80s has died after being struck by a vehicle in Carlow.
The incident occurred at 4.30pm on Thursday in a car park at Presentation Place, opposite Carlow Cathedral in Carlow town.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the woman’s death.
Garda Supt Anthony Farrell from Carlow Garda station said the woman “was struck by a vehicle”, resulting in “fatal injuries”. Gardaí are investigating.
A postmortem is expected to be carried out at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) and a file will be prepared for the coroner’s office.
