The annual fundraising campaign ran from Nov. 15 to Dec. 24 with volunteers collecting donations and stores and other locations across Windsor-Essex. It is the charity’s largest annual public fundraiser.
The Salvation Army had set a 2024 fundraising goal of $240,000 in Windsor and Essex County. It raised $257,651.
“This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of the hundreds of volunteers who selflessly contribute their time each year,” said Jason Linton, executive director of the Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope.
“Surpassing our goal reflects the spirit of compassion and generosity that defines Windsor. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every donor, volunteer, and partner who contributed to this success.”
During the 2023 kettle campaign, the Salvation Army raised $217,934, surpassing that year’s goal of $200,000.
The charity said that all money raised helps vulnerable individuals and families in the Windsor region by supporting services such as food security programs, emergency shelters, and empowerment initiatives year-round.
