Rosanna Davison paid homage to her father Chris de Burgh’s famous ‘Lady In Red’ love song tonight on Dancing With The Stars.
The stand out moment from the show tonight was Rosanna dancing the rumba to ‘Lady in Red’ in honour of her father, Chris de Burgh, who released the romantic song in 1986.
Fittingly, Davison, 39, brought new life to the song, in honour of her father, who watched from the audience, as his daughter became Lady In Red for one night on the dancefloor as she donned a red dress for the routine.
“I couldn’t even look over there, I hope I made you proud,” Ms Davison called over to her father who was sat in the audience afterwards.
“I’m proud to be here to dance to that song for my dad… We had a very normal upbringing, he was at home playing games in the garden….He was a fabulous dad, very hands on.”
The ballad is almost four decades old and it was a huge global hit and it’s still not only a wedding track favourite, but a beloved backing track for rumba dancers the world over.
Davison scored 26 out of 30 for the dance and she looked stunning in a red chiffon dress.
“It’s lovely to bring people back to the nostalgia and it’s lovely to have my parents here and to have their support and for them to be a part of this,” she said.
The couple who won immunity from next week’s dance off was jockey Davey Russell, 44, and Kylee Vincent.
