“It’s spooky season and there’s a new mystery to solve in Crystal Cove.” Max has revealed an official trailer for the Velma series Halloween special, arriving to watch later this month – starting October 3rd. Yep, this animated series is still going. The one-off horror episode is titled in full Velma: This Halloween Needs to be More Special. Velma and her crew scramble to find a sinister spellbook within 24 hours to resurrect her, dodging a malevolent spirit’s fury. As the Sexy Halloween bash looms, they must confront their deepest terrors, fighting for their lives. Featuring the voices of Mindy Kaling as Velma, Glenn Howerton, Sam Richardson, & Constance Wu. We posted trailers for this series last year when it debuted, I thought that would be the last we’d hear of it (especially with really bad reviews). They also have the next Season 2 in the works, with this Halloween special kicking things off before continuing. Is anyone even watching this series?

Velma is an adult animated comedy series telling the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and under-appreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. This original and humorous spin unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers. Velma is a series created and developed by comedian / writer Charlie Grandy, who has worked on TV writing for “The Daily Show”, “Saturday Night Live”, “The Mindy Project”, “Champions” previously. This ep is directed by Adam Parton & Meg Waldow. Based on the “Scooby-Doo” characters by Hanna-Barbera Productions. Executive produced by Charlie Grandy, Mindy Kaling, Howard Klein, Sam Register. With animation by Warner Bros Animation. HBO releases the Velma animated series streaming on HBO Max starting January 12th, 2023. Any good?
