A man in his 70s has died after he was struck by a car in Co Limerick on Sunday night.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal crash in Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.
Shortly after 9:00pm, Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident involving a car and a pedestrian on New Street, Abbeyfeale.
The pedestrian, a male in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The scene is preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
A report will be sent to the local Coroner and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision. Additionally, anyone with video footage, including motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time, is asked to come forward.
