BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 5. Kyrgyzstan
and China have agreed to hold an intergovernmental commission on
trade and economic cooperation meeting in China in September,
announced Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek
Japarov, Trend
reports.
Japarov made the announcement during a meeting with China’s
Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Du Dewen.
“I am confident that the launch of the new Kyrgyz-Chinese state
border crossing point marks a new chapter in our nations’ history.
I hope we can complete all planned cooperation projects to advance
our country and peoples,” Japarov said.
In reply, Dewen sang praises to the flourishing economic growth
of Kyrgyzstan, which she believes sets the stage for the two
countries to join forces and make great strides in their trade and
economic partnership.
The Kyrgyz-Chinese state border crossing at Bedel opened in
early September with streamlined procedures and temporary
infrastructure. Electricity is available, and the
Barskoon-Uch-Turfan-Aksu temporary road and bridges span 58
kilometers to the crossing location.
The two countries will join forces to go the whole nine yards in
constructing the road, as well as bringing customs and border
infrastructure up to scratch to meet international standards, all
set to be completed by 2027.
