List of AAP’s star campaigners for J-K Assembly Elections 2024
Significantly, on the margins of upcoming assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party also released the list of star campaigners for the Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections. The list of 40 campaigners includes AAP National convener Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, party leader Manish Sisodia, and AAP Ministers Atishi, Sanjay Singh, Gopal Rai, MP Raghav Chadha, among others.
When will J-K vote?
It is pertinent to note that the Election Commission of India had announced the dates for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. It had informed that the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will take place in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1, with the results set to be announced on October 4.
Significantly, J-K has been without an elected government since June 2018 when the BJP pulled out of the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP-BJP coalition government. The state came under the Governor’s rule and the then-governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the Assembly.
On August 5, 2019, Article 370 was abrogated and J-K was bifurcated into two union territories of J-K and Ladakh.
