Here is how 10-man Ireland fared against England as Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men finished their Nations League campaign with a heavy 5-0 defeat at Wembley Stadium.
Caoimhín Kelleher 5
Only tested once in the first-half and went the wrong way for Harry Kane’s penalty. The Corkman couldn’t do a whole lot for the next four before making a couple of saves late on.
Dara O’Shea 5
Came in for Matt Doherty at right-back. Key intervention to clear to safety on 47 minutes but should have done better to track Taylor Harwood-Bellis for the hosts’ fifth.
Mark McGuinness 5
Big night for the Luton Town centre-half making his senior debut. A key challenge to deny Jude Bellingham on 19 minutes helped him settle but he failed to track Conor Gallagher for England’s third.
Liam Scales 5
A massive tackle on Kane summed up an impressive first-half. However, had a nightmare moment when the Celtic defender clipped Bellingham, gave away a penalty and picked up a second yellow.
Callum O’Dowda 5
Deployed at left-back and had a solid first half as he won a free from Noni Madueke to relieve pressure. Limited impact afterwards from the Cardiff City man as Finn Azaz came on.
Festy Ebosele 6
First time the Wexford man has started successive games. Two early forays forward caught the eye and did well in defence before coming off for Ryan Manning. A decent shift on a difficult night.
Jayson Molumby 6
Replaced Jason Knight in midfield and did well to dispossess Madueke in the first-half before getting in a tense tangle with Kane. A tough night but never stopped working.

Nathan Collins 5
Two blocks to deny Curtis Jones and Gordon from defensive midfield set the tone for a superb first-half as he tracked Kane. Should have done much better to clear when Gordon struck.
Josh Cullen 5
A smart block from the Burnley midfielder denied Bellingham on 10 minutes but poor miscommunication at the back allowed Gordon to fire in the second. Made way for Andrew Moran.
Sammie Szmodics 5
Started on the left as the Ipswich Town attacker had a first-half penalty appeal turned down after Kyle Walker’s challenge. Should have done better to prevent Tino Livramento’s cross for England’s second.
Evan Ferguson 6
Very unlucky when VAR looked at Marc Guehi’s clear shirt pull on the Brighton striker but decided not to award a penalty. Quiet second-half before making way for Troy Parrott.
Substitutes 5
Parrott, Manning and Azaz (66 minutes) came on but none could pull a goal back. Moran (76) earned his second senior cap while Leicester’s Kasey McAteer (86) won his fourth late on.

A real game of two halves. Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men did superbly to frustrate the hosts in the first-half, but that good work was all undone by three concessions within five minutes. His heaviest defeat as Irish boss.
