Bring light to your Diwali celebrations as four of our camps create a special experience for you on safari.
What better than to combine the joy of Diwali with the adventure of an East African safari, where the Festival of Lights meets the wild, untamed beauty of nature. This year, why not trade the bustling cityscape for the tranquil savannahs and celebrate Diwali under the mesmerising skies of East Africa?
Diwali, the festival that symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, will be celebrated from 29 October to 03 November 2024 (5 days), with four of our Tanzanian and Kenyan camps honouring Diwali in their own special way.
Jabali Ridge, Dunia, Sayari and Rekero camps will be honouring the Festival of Lights on Friday 01 November 2024 to ensure that you feel at home during this special time, in the heart of the wilderness:
• Special Diwali menu
• Beautiful lanterns and candles to light your dinners
• Captivating decorations
• Sweet treats
• Adaptations to any fasting requirements
• Sky full of stars (weather permitting)

Dine in our natural boma within the rocks, surrounded by a wall of lanterns as you celebrate Diwali. At the same time, our incredible infinity pool provides the perfect place to relax and gaze over the endless African bush.
Dunia Camp, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
The team at Dunia Camp pays the highest attention to detail and is skilled at anticipating your every need – Diwali will be no different. The camp is directly in the path of the Great Migration, offering breathtaking landscapes and captivating year-round wildlife viewing. You can immerse yourself in the perfect blend of wildlife whilst watching for majestic big cats and the elusive black rhino in the Moru Kopjes.
Sayari Camp, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
As evening falls and the African sky is painted with hues of orange, pink and violet, the real magic begins at Sayari over Diwali. From November, the area provides serene exclusivity amongst black rhino and resident cats. Between walking safaris and twice-daily game drives, relax with a refreshing swim in our rim-flow pool and a soothing massage.
Rekero Camp, Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
Set on the banks of the Talek River in the middle of the renowned Masai Mara, Rekero Camp provides a home-away-from-home safari experience. The central location of Rekero makes it the ideal base from which to explore this wildlife-rich environment, offering phenomenal year-round game viewing. The expansive main deck provides many vantage points to enjoy the surrounding wildlife and creates a unique dining experience when adorned with lanterns for a Diwali celebration.
