NEW DELHI: Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa lights up with words ‘Guest of Honor – Republic of India’ ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the World Government Summit. PM Modi was invited by the Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to be the Guest of Honour and deliver a special keynote address at the Summit.PM Modi earlier received a warm welcome from Dubai’s Crown Prince.He said that the strong relations between two countries is a model of international cooperation.Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in a post on X, stated that the World Government Summit has become a leading platform for sharing governance best practices, success stories, and initiatives.Expressing his pleasure at India’s participation, Sheikh Hamdan said, ‘We extend a warm welcome to the Republic of India and to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The strong ties between our nations serve as a model for international cooperation.’During his visit to the UAE, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet UAE Vice President Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and inaugurate the BAPS Mandir in Abu Dhabi. The Prime Minister has previously met with the UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged.In a meeting with the UAE President, PM Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted the progress made in various fields through the joint partnership between India and the UAE.Prime Minister Narendra Modi also interacted with students from the IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Campus and praised the project for fostering collaboration between the two countries. He addressed the Indian diaspora at the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event at Zayed Sports Stadium in Abu Dhabi.India and the UAE enjoy a close and multi-faceted relationship, with strong political, cultural, and economic ties. The two countries have elevated their bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signing agreements to promote cross-border transactions using the Indian Rupee and AED. The UAE is among India’s top trading partners and one of the leading investors in the country.The Indian community in the UAE, with a population of around 3.5 million, plays a vital role in the development of the host country and contributes to the excellent bilateral engagement between India and the UAE.
