Hoping to make an immediate return to winning ways on Saturday lunchtime, Swansea will travel to the MKM Stadium when they meet Hull.
Starting with the hosts, officially appointing Ruben Selles earlier in the month, the former Reading boss really has a job on his hands in Yorkshire. Falling to a 2-1 loss away at Coventry last weekend, the Tigers find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap and desperately seeking some kind of boost. However, signing off November with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough, Hull have collected just a single point from any of their previous eight consecutive Championship appearances. With that extended crisis stemming all the way back to a 1-1 stalemate against Hull on November 2nd, Saturday’s hosts have also failed to muster a sole win from any of their last 13 showdowns against second-tier opposition. Likewise, failing to put a single clean sheet on the boar since the end of August, Selles’ side open Saturday’s showdown sat rock-bottom of the Championship table. It should also be noted, the Tigers have seen four of their last six matchups at the MKM Stadium finish with both teams finding the net.
As for the visitors, suffering a dramatic late collapse at home against Sunderland last weekend as they eventually fell to a frantic 3-2 defeat, Swansea will be seeking an immediate response here. Landing a 2-1 win when they travelled to Plymouth earlier in the month, Luke Williams’ side are desperate to make up some ground in the play-off chase. Suffering just a single defeat from any of their previous five Championship appearances, Saturday’s guests will also be excited by their continued success away from the Liberty. Including a 2-1 victory against Derby last month, Swansea have lost just one of their last six showdowns outside of South Wales – a run that stems back to October 19th. However, continuing on from last season, Williams’ men have recorded just a sole clean sheet on their travels since the middle of April. It should also be highlighted, the Swans have seen four of their last five Championship contests away from the Liberty finish with both teams finding the net.
