BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The Azerbaijani
delegation took part in the IX Caspian Media Forum, which is being
held in the city of Astrakhan (Russian Federation), Azerbaijan’s
Media Development Agency says, Trend reports.
During the visit, the delegation visited the monument to the
Azerbaijan’s great leader in the park named after national leader
Heydar Aliyev, as well as the Eternal Flame of Glory monument in
the Bratsky Garden and laid flowers at them.
The main goal of the event, held on the theme “Dialogue of
Cultures as a Basis for the Development of the Caspian Region”, is
to create a unified media environment between the Caspian
countries, promote the eradication of disinformation, as well as
mutual understanding and cooperation between the various cultures
existing in the region, by developing a platform for constructive
dialogue.
Speaking at a meeting of heads of delegations held within the
framework of the IX Caspian Media Forum, Deputy Executive Director
of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Natig
Mammadli emphasized the important role of such platforms in
creating cultural bridges between peoples and in discussing the
prospects for further cooperation in the media sphere, he also
noted that in the digital age, artificial intelligence influences
the spread of disinformation. Mammadli stressed the importance of
the second Shusha Global Media Forum on the topic “Exposing False
Narratives: Fighting Disinformation”, organized by our country, in
terms of discussing effective methods of combating in the relevant
area and strengthening international cooperation.
The IX Caspian Media Forum will continue its work with plenary
sessions the next day.
