Vietnam-based shipowner and fleet management firm Asia Pacific Shipping (ASP) has placed an order with Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in China for two methanol dual-fuel MR oil tankers.
The contract for the order was signed during the Posidonia 2024 in Athens, Greece. No financial details of the deal were revealed.
The tankers will have a total length of 182.99 meters, a moulded width of 32 meters, a structural draft of 11 meters, and a speed of 14.5 knots under the designed draft.
It is equipped with a methanol dual-fuel power system, meets the IMO Tier III emission standard, and the EEDI reaches the requirements of the third stage.
ASP has a fleet of 20 vessels, 18 of which are owned and consist of bulk carriers, gas carriers, general cargo ships, and tankers.
