Marvel at the Postmas Diamond Mine

Diamond mines formed part of the history of this small town, which found its first diamond in 1918 and had its own diamond rush. The mine, however, met the same fate as “The Big Hole” in Kimberly, as it flooded and caused a significant crater in the ground.

This hole can be viewed from above. It is around 45 meters deep and filled with greenish-brown hued water. To this day, this little town still produces minerals for export, most notably manganese.
