Four people are in critical condition after a head-on collision on Highway 15 in the Ste-Adèle sector in the Laurentians.
Highway 15 is currently closed to traffic for the purposes of the investigation.
Around 2:20 p.m., emergency services were called to respond on Highway 15 North regarding a collision between two sport-utility vehicles.
One of the two vehicles travelling southbound crossed the central median before colliding with the second vehicle heading north.
According to a spokesperson at the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Camille Savoie, a woman in her 40s and another in her 60s were on board the vehicle that deviated from its lane.
Two octogenarians were in the other vehicle and authorities fear for the lives of the four people.
Accident reconstructionists were dispatched to the scene to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident.
