Ahmedabad-based Torrent Power Limited made a commitment of Rs 64,200 crore through two “shapath patra” with the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy at the fourth Global RE-INVEST Conference in Gandhinagar on Monday.
The power arm of Torrent Group made a commitment of 10 Gigawatt (GW) of installed Renewable Energy (RE) capacity by 2030, with an investment of Rs 57,000 crore, after signing an MoU with the Gujarat government for setting up a solar, wind or solar-wind hybrid project of 5GW capacity at Devbhumi Dwarka.
The second commitment was for setting up a green ammonia production facility of 1,00,000 Kilo Tonnes Per Annum (KTPA) capacity with an investment of Rs 7,200 crore besides generating employment for around 1,000 people.
