If you were anywhere in Kananaskis Country on this special day, you might have heard the hooting and hollering from the fourth tee-box on the Mount Kidd Course. Warren Immerker was enjoying a round with seven friends — in back-to-back foursomes — when he stepped up to the signature hole, thumped a five-iron and watched from 171 yards away as his ball dropped to the bottom of the cup for his first ace.

His buddy, Jesse Byers, arrived at that same assignment a few minutes later and repeated the feat, swishing a six-iron from 171 to set up a shared celebration. Making the story even more special, the pin-cutter that day — hired for the remainder of the season in K-Country after he was among those evacuated due to the Jasper wildfires — happened to witness both shots. Very cool.
Hole 13 at Silver Springs proved lucky for Mike Whittle, who slugged a seven-hybrid across the water hazard and was right on the money from 139 yards away. As Whittle put it: “I’m 68 years old and have been trying to ace a Par-3 for 50 years! Tick this accomplishment off the bucket list!”
Janie Denoncourt tried to take a smidge off her full driver swing on No. 6 on Shaganappi’s Valley Nine but was worried her ball had gone a bit further than the 174 yards required. She was still searching behind and around the green when a friend checked the target and … there it was. Spot on!
Kyla Jones made short work of the sixth at Willow Park. Seven-iron was the right call for a 138-yard challenge.
Jordan Alford gave the gents something to celebrate with a men’s night ace at Lakeside. Alford skipped the putting portion on No. 6, finishing his business with one knock of a nine-iron from 130 yards out.
