BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. US President Joe
Biden, in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu, stressed the urgency of finalizing a ceasefire
agreement in the Gaza Strip between the Jewish state and the
Palestinian Hamas movement, the White House press service said,

“The president stressed the urgency of reaching a ceasefire and
hostage release deal and discussed future talks in Cairo to remove
any remaining obstacles,” the statement said.
In addition, they discussed the measures taken by the United
States to support Israel in its defense against all threats,
including Iran and groups that Washington considers to be
controlled by Tehran, such as Hamas, the Lebanese Hezbollah party
and the Yemeni Houthis from the rebel movement Ansar Allah.
