BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21. The Shusha Global
Media Forum is of great importance in the fight against
disinformation, editor of Visions of Azerbaijan magazine Ian Peart
told Trend.
He noted that disinformation is widespread in the world today.
“I watch a lot of Western media, how they write, sometimes I want
to cry. Their distortion of what happened, especially during the
conflict with Armenia, is simply incredible. Sometimes I wrote to
Western media, come here, look at Azerbaijan, check, don’t just
copy and paste, what you said is not true, not accurate,” he
said.
Peart added that it was important to invite journalists from
around the world to discuss the issue. “Because I’m very concerned
that this misinformation continues,” he added.
The forum, which is attended by more than 150 foreign guests
from about 50 countries, including representatives of news agencies
from about 30 countries, 3 international organizations and 82 media
institutions, serves as a joint platform for discussion and action
for participants.
