Scottie Scheffler was detained in handcuffs by police while travelling to the PGA Championship for his second round at Valhalla today.
According to reports, the world No 1 was led away in handcuffs by Louisville police after a traffic misunderstanding. Scheffler reportedly attempted to drive past a police officer to get into the grounds, leading to his detention. It is not yet known how the incident will affect his participation this afternoon.
The second round of the championship was delayed by at least an hour after an accident occurred outside the golf club, with reports suggesting a pedestrian was hit by a shuttle bus.
It is understood the police officer screamed at Scheffler and when the two-time Masters winner exited the car he was immediately placed in handcuffs and was led to the back of the police car.
