Three South African airports received recognition at the 2024 Skytrax World Airport Awards held in Frankfurt, Germany.
Skytrax has operated the World Airline and Airport Star Rating system for 25 years, assessing airlines and airports on quality and service since 1999.
The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) says these are coveted accolades for airports across the globe.
Receiving a Skytrax Airport Award is an international benchmark of airport excellence, and South Africa has just bagged three of them.
Cape Town International Airport won Best Airport in Africa and Best Airport Staff in Africa. This year will mark the ninth-year streak of Cape Town International being named as best airport in Africa, and the fourth consecutive year for the best airport staff on the continent.
King Shaka International Airport was named Best Regional Airport in Africa.
OR Tambo International Airport was ranked third Best Airport in Africa and also won Best Airport Hotel.
