Terrace is located on the Highway of Tears, where many women have gone missing

Terrace RCMP is searching for a 34-year-old woman missing since Friday.
On Sunday afternoon, an RCMP spokesperson said that Melissa “Missy” Balatti has been reported missing after last being seen on April 5.

The RCMP did not say what Balatti’s last known location was.
Balatti is Caucasian, 5-foot-5, 120 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes.
She was last seen wearing black jogging pants and a red hoodie.

Terrace is located on Highway 16, also known as the Highway of Tears because dozens of women have vanished or been killed along the stretch of highway between Prince Rupert and Prince George.
As recently as last November, the body of a woman who had disappeared from a First Nations community west of Prince George was located. Another woman who was reported missing at the same time has not been located.
