Two men are facing a slew of drug and firearms charges after Peel Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Mississauga earlier this week.
Investigators say they recovered two loaded firearms along with an unspecified quantity of drugs and cash at a residence in the city’s Lakeview neighbourhood, near Lakeshore Road and Hydro Road.
Authorities say one of the firearms was illegally modified with a device that allows the firearm to transform into a fully automatic machine gun.
Following the search and seizure, police arrested 25-year-old Rain Dunham and 24-year-old Jayden Hurley. They are both facing six charges, including possession of a restricted firearm, possession of property obtained by crime and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Hurley, who is currently on bail for several other violent offences, is also facing an additional charge for possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
Both individuals were held for bail hearings and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
